All of these forms precede the verb like any pronoun, except for “loro” which follows the verb.

A me sembra una buona idea. / Mi sembra una buona idea.

Do a loro i miei appunti. / Do loro i miei appunti.

If the verb is in its infinitive form (ending -are, -ere, or -ire), the “mi”, “ti”, “gli”, etc. attach to the ending. This is optional with modal verbs (volere, potere, dovere).

Gli voglio parlare. / Voglio parlargli.

Ho una cosa da dirti.

The “a me”, “a te”, “a lui”, etc. forms can be constructed with any other preposition (di, da, in, con, su, per, tra, fra). In these cases they will follow the verb.

Questo regalo è per te.

Io credo in lui.

Vengo con voi.
